Hatialli in direct translation from the local dialect means "the elephant is coming". A large population of elephants have always lived in this area, attracted by the high quality of the vegetation and fruits. Over the past few decades, teas from the Hatialli Garden have developed a cult following and become a legend among Assam teas. Not for nothing are they considered the queen of the Jokai Group of Tea Gardens.
