Rohini is always amongst the first teas of the first harvest of Darjeeling teas thanks to its location at a lower height above sea level, and our tea is amongst the best this garden has to offer. The Rohini tea region is divided into 4 districts. The lowest situated is Jaberhat (24 hectares), a little higher are the districts of Kotidhara and Pailodhora (together 76 hectares) and the highest situated district is named Tukuriya, which extends out as far as the town of Kurseong. Here the majority is formed by trees more than 100 years old.
Dry leaves treat us with the scent of a meadow and vegetables. After brewing, these aromas intensify and transform into more fruity ones. The taste of golden tea is dominated by tropical fruits and a hint of honey. In the aftertaste, there is a distinct but non-opaque bitterness. Leaves are nicely preserved, with a large proportion of white tips. They come from the elite B157 cultivar.
